Confession: I've developed an intense admiration, bordering on creepy obsession, with the Nie blog. Those of you who have read it maybe can relate.

The nieniedialogues, is a blog written by Stephanie Nielson. She is an inspiring wife and mother of 4. Last year, she and her husband were in a near-fatal plane crash and survived - but not without serious burns and life-altering injuries.

I've been brought to tears so many times reading her blog and checking up for new posts. She is admirable in many ways. What inspires me is her attitude. I'm sure she has her moments of complete sorrow and frustration, but what carries her through each day is a faith and determination to not just live, but live right and live happy.

As may be evident from my previous post, I've been struggling and dealing with a very difficult situation. It has been hard. But what has been easy is feeling sorry for myself. I've found that one of the best cures to this dead-end attitude is Nie. She has lifted me out of some dark times and taught me how to live right and live happy despite the cards that life deals you. And underlying her attitude and spirit is the gospel of Jesus Christ - so I guess it all comes back to this eventually (as it always does).

If I could ever get the chance to meet her, I would just thank her for being the best of examples in a time when I needed it most.

  1. Brittney,
I am sorry to hear you have been going through such a hard time lately. And I wanted to thank you for sharing the Nie Blog with me. I sat glued to the computer last night reading it. I am hoping to get together with you soon. Take care.

  2. Brittney! I'm obsessed with Nie's blog, too. Do you read her sister Courtney's blog, too? www.cjanerun.blogspot. I would argue that it's equally as incredible and inspiring. I, too, get on their blogs when I need a swift "kick to the butt." Women of faith. They put me to shame. You're in our thoughts and prayers!

  3. I am obsessed with Nie's blog as well. I could look at her blog for hours. So much of what you've posted lately is exactly what's going on in my head right now, so it's been really nice to read your blog and see someone else having similar struggles. Thanks for your posts!
